
Mylinqs Makes The News In Fleetwood
Mylinqs has made the headlines in the Fleetwood Weekly News.
The article focused on the residents at Regenda’s Welbeck House in Fleetwood, Lancashire and how through Mylinqs they can learn how to use the Internet safetly and easily.
Andy Carberry, head of Independant Living at Regenda said: “Mylinqs allows them to learn new skills which are importnant to retaining their indepedance.”
Ann Crewe, 74 (see above), a resident at Welbeck House, is one of the residents to benefit from the scheme. She said it has already made a big difference to her life.
She said: “I’ve never used a computer before, it’s new technology to me but it’s so easy to use.”
“I’ve sent emails to my son and daughter and listened to the music channel. It’s really great.”
Mylinqs is being piloted in 5 of Regenda’s schemes throughout the North West. After the 12 month trial, the system will be assessed by Regenda and if it is deemed a success, funding will be looked at to possibly roll it out ot other Regenda housing schemes, including Fleetwood’s Wansbeck House. Regenda have said the early signs are promising.
