Merseyside Entrepreneurs can boost their business profile by hosting an Entrepreneur from Europe
Want to bring some European flair to your company? The Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs Programme could be the answer! The recently launched programme will offer successful entrepreneurs in Merseyside the opportunity to become a host entrepreneur and work with an aspiring young entrepreneur from another European country within a period of 1 to 6 months. The hosting is financially supported by the European Commission which means the visiting entrepreneur’s expenses are paid for, leaving the host free to benefit from their enthusiasm. In return, host entrepreneurs will share their entrepreneurial experience and act as a business mentor so that the young entrepreneur can take new skills home with them to help with their own business dreams.
In May 2012, Third Sector organisation Merseyside Expanding Horizons (MEH) was appointed by the European Commission as the first ‘Local Contact Point’ Intermediary Organisation in Merseyside to support aspiring and established entrepreneurs interested in participating in the programme.
MEH aims to empower small and medium sized enterprises in playing an active role in facing the current economic challenges, help establish new commercial relationships between new and established businesses and enhance access to the European market.
Nicola Daley MEH Chief Executive says;
The Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs programme is fantastic opportunity for Merseyside entrepreneurs to play a key role in supporting new entrepreneurs and business whilst also developing their own businesses contacts and profile at EU level. The economic crisis has had a massive impact on local SMEs so there is a real benefit and a need for programmes like Erasmus which can help respond to the challenges and offer invaluable experience and resource to local entrepreneurs
